Stompy
In a word - Stompy.
Wet heavy snow days in the Pacific Northwest
Me: , 43 year olds, 6’ tall, 165 lbs
Skis: 18/19 191 urrakkar w/ pivots at -5.5 from TC which is +1.5 from recommended. Spooned tips and tails. Looking down at the top, you can’t tell it’s spooned.
The tips look like...a cross between a bent chetler 120 and an armada ARG.
Fit and finish on par with the top American micro brands. One part of the edge needed a quick deburr. Textured top sheets didn’t shed snow as well as I expected. But it looks and feels nice.
Definitely durable. 5 seasons. Handmade bamboo skis are hard to injure.
They are heavy enough to be stable AF, actually. They truck. A bit playful, but they are more of a fall line ski than I was expecting.
Pivot well. Nimble if you have the strength to give them input. There is a little more tail rocker length than a directional pow ski, but there is also a little more tail. They break free of turns easily (a quality I value highly in the steep trees).
Since owning them I have sold: On3p cease and desist, Moment Ghost train, Revolt 121.
Buoyant for sure. Didn’t matter if I was neutral or all over the tips. These won’t sink.
They really aren’t fun on firm snow, but they manage. I didn't get a 124mm ski for it's groomer performance.
SGN also sent a note with the skis just to say they were stoked to sell to someone in North America. That was cool.
I really would love a 112-116 lighter layup with retained bamboo dampness in a 185 for touring.…

Really stoked to hear that you enjoy the urRakkar, Adam!!
We've been aming for a fun, playfull and stompy ski here, so it's really cool to hear that you root for this ski!! :)
Have you checked out the Tunnelvisjon, as a playfull-big mountain-deep snow-tourer? it might hit the spot with it's bamboo and poppel core ;)
Hope the winter serves you many good adventures!
